Amed is known for world class diving and some of Bali's best snorkeling can be found in many of Amed's little coves and bays. A local fishing trips and sailing can be scheduled guests to experience a beautiful sunrise or sunset in the open ocean in a local fisherman katamaran "jukung". You can be picked up at the hotel before sunrise. Try your luck at catching large tuna, Barracuda. then have it specially prepared that evening into a tasty, local recipe. this is a unique way to spend a vacation in Amed. We recommend taking a boat trip at sunrise or sunset , as the views from the water are breathtaking.


For the more energetic traveler there are several trekking expeditions around Amed. Mount Agung is Bali's highest volcano (3,142 meters) Gunung Agung last erupted in 1963-64 and is still active, with large and very deep crater which occasionally belches smoke and dust. You will walk through terraced rice fields, by rivers streaming, and the native Balinese villages where you can interact with the locals, and appreciated by the scenery along the road. The whole trip will take about 3 hours and if you leave from Bali Bhuana Beach early in the morning you can climb to the peak in time for sunrise .


karangasem has some interesting places,you should visit , such as; Tirta Gangga,goa lawah, Candidasa, Tulamben, Besakih,,and others. In Karangasem regency also has a Volcanic Mountain which is the Highest mountain in Bali about 3.142 meters above the sea level. And livehood of most communities are still predominantly from Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock, and also supported by tourism.That's why until now Karangasem regency is often called with " The Pearl of the East".
